How did you get into flying trapeze?
I walked past the rig and got stuck in the fence. Haven’t been able to tear myself away since. I like flying because it makes me feel free and HAPPY! I train primarily at Gorilla Circus however have flown in LA, New York, Auckland and Singapore.

What flying trapeze trick do you like to throw the most?
My favourite trick is a forward over. And hopefully soon a hocks salto.

What do you like best about teaching flying trapeze?
I love that I can help students experience something new and out of their comfort zone. The satisfaction of seeing someone progress is awesome!

What advice would you give to someone who’s on the fence about trying flying trapeze?
‘Get off the fence and come through the gate’. Don’t live life wondering what it’s like to fly.

What feedback do you give the most often to students?
Hips forward, shoulders back. Occasionally, “Let’s do it just like last time however this time hold on to the bar.”

Tell us something wise that you learned from flying trapeze, or share a funny story.
It’s OK not to be perfect the first time. The bruises you get from the ladder will eventually fade.
